First of all, we demonstrate how writing learning journals encouraged the international students of the University of Yamanashi who participated in the Intercultural Communication class to develop the meta-cognitive knowledge and actions towards their learning purposes and processes. It helped the students to increase their active involvement in and ownership of learning. Secondly, we present a practical report on “Multicultural Understanding IV(Seminar)”, a general education subject that has been offered for the first time as a multicultural class at Yamagata University. We suggest a new viewpoint on the description of the “Reaction-paper” that was written by students at each session. Lastly, in the practical report on visitor sessions at Saga University, we present a new viewpoint regarding students' mutual evaluation for the presentations by international students.
