In addition, we determined the nucleotide sequences of cyt b from 13 specimens and reconstructed a phylogenetic tree. Our results showed that, in Yamagata prefecture, the wild populations of the Medaka fish were mainly divided into two groups: One group distributed in the northern coastal area and another distributed in the inland area.
